Students will learn about careers in networking and employability skills required for a career in networking. Students will learn about the types of networks, network topologies, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, Internet protocol addresses, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Students will learn about networking devices, cables, media, and connectors. Students will learn to set up a small wired network. Students will learn about network security threats and preventive measures to secure a network. This course also covers network planning, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
