Corrections: Policies and Procedures

This semester-long course introduces high school students to the corrections branch of the U.S. Criminal Justice System. Students learn how correctional facilities and programs have evolved, and explore the laws, policies, and procedures that guide their operation. The course covers the duties, responsibilities, conduct, and training required for corrections staff, as well as certification opportunities. Students gain a detailed understanding of the careers available in this important and growing field.
